Delete your Umego account

Umego lets you permanently request deletion of your account and associated personal data. The fastest method is inside the app. If you cannot sign in, you can request deletion by email.

If you cannot access the app

Email support@umego.app from the email address connected to your Umego account. Use the subject Umego account deletion request and include your username if you know it. We may ask for limited information to confirm that the account belongs to you. Do not email your password or identity document.

What deletion covers

Deletion removes the account from active use and initiates deletion of associated profile information and content controlled by that account. Owned media cleanup runs through a retry queue and is not instantaneous. Older shared chat media with uncertain ownership requires review before removal. Other participants may retain their own messages and copies.

Limited records may be retained for a restricted period when reasonably necessary for backups, fraud prevention, safety investigations, dispute resolution or legal obligations. Retained records are not used to keep the deleted account active.

Apple sign-in and subscriptions

Deleting your Umego account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Manage or cancel it in your Apple Account subscription settings to stop future renewals.

If you signed in with Apple, you can also remove Umego from your Apple Account’s Sign in with Apple settings. See Apple’s instructions. Your Umego deletion request does not depend on completing this separate step.

Before you delete

Account deletion is intended to be permanent.

If you only want to stop appearing in Nearby, use Ghost Mode or stop sharing location instead. If you only want to leave Nikah, use the Nikah visibility controls rather than deleting your entire Umego account.
